What if you had only one day to live? What would you do? Who would you kiss? And how far would you go to save your own life?
Samantha Kingston has it all – looks, popularity, the perfect boyfriend. Friday, February 12th should be just another day in her charmed life. Instead, it’s her last. The catch: Samantha still wakes up the next morning. In fact, she re-lives the last day of her life seven times, until she realizes that by making even the slightest changes, she may hold more power than she had ever imagined.
REVIEW
Before I Fall is a beautifully written book that touches on a number of teen struggles such as popularity, morals, love, and peer pressure. All of this is packaged in a heart-felt and tragic story.
Sam is a popular teen girl – a typical queen bee who is idolized by her classmates. Sam is also a mean girl who is known to wreak havoc on classmates who annoy her and the other popular girls.
When Sam suddenly dies in an accident, she is faced with an unusual situation where she relives her last day seven times. What Sam DOES with this situation is what makes the book so very special. Each time she relives that day, Sam uncovers something new about herself, her friends, and her boyfriend.
The audio book is read by Sarah Drew, who has a perfect teen voice. She portrays Sam just the way I would picture her and she also does a great job of changing her voice for the other characters. The audio book is over 12 hours long, and I enjoyed every last bit of it. Between Oliver’s fantastic writing and Drew’s authentic voice, I was blown away.
